Fishing Reports

7-18-09 Fished a USA Bassin Tournament on Old Hickory Lake. Was a slow day as far as numbers but did manage some quality fish. Had a limit that went 15.10 was good enough for 1st place and also had big fish 5.70. Caught fish on big worms and on jigs. Was a tough day had to really slow down to get any bites. Best 2 fish pictured below both over 5lbs....






7-3-09 I went to Percy Preist for a little night fishing. Fished for about 4 hours caught some fish on 10" Power worms. But the suprise came about 10:30 was working a main lake point with a crankbait and caught my personal best on this lake Large Mouth 22 inches long 15 inch girth was right at 6 lbs. Took a few pics and she swam away to be caught another day. Its been hot so if you are interested in a little night fishing let me know...Kevin



3-23-09 Old Hickory Lake Fished points leading into coves and caught a good number of fish on a shakey head with 4inch finesse worms. Mixed bag just a few keepers. Can't wait to get back on the water fishing should pick up as the weather gets warmer. If interested in a fishing trip on Old Hickory let me know Good Fishing Steve

4/1/09 Fished old hickory today after the cold front last night. the fishing was a little tough. Did managed to catch about 20 today with only one keeper. All the fish came on shakey heads with 4 inch finesse worms. All the fish i found were about mid way back in the creek and bays grouped up in about 5 to 12 foot of water. Good fishing Steve.

4/5/09 Kevin and i fished flippers Sunday morning tournament at old hickory. It took 14.05 lbs to win and the big fish was 6.30. We did alot of running and managed a limit that weighed 8.75. we never got the big bite that we needed to upgrade for a check, but we had fun and caught a good amount of fish. They all came on soft plastics in 5 to 10 feet of water. the water temp was about 54 to 58 degrees. The weather this week will will slow things down a bit, but hopefully the weather will break and things will turn on late next week. Good fishing Steve.

4/11/09 Steve and I fished Kentucky lake. Due to high wind we wasnt able to fish the areas we had planned on so we made the best of it finding some good points leading into spawning coves. Caught alot of fish mostly short fish had a few good largemouth with one  around 3 pounds. Most fish were caught on a variety of soft plastic baits but we did manage a few better fish on lipless crank baits  around grass before the wind ran us off. Fishing is getting better each week look foward to warmer weather.... Kevin

4/25/09 Today Steve and I fished the USA Bassin Tournament on Old Hickory Lake. We both were entered as boaters. I ended up winning with a total weight of just under 13 lbs the client fishing with me had a new personal best fish going almost 6 lbs. It was a hot day 87 Degrees but we managed to have a limit by 11.00 and  culled twice for a small upgrade. All fish were caught on soft plastics in 6-10 ft of water. The heat seemed to slow the bite some also the water temps jumped up quick over the past few days with the warm weather we have had we saw some water in the 67-69 Degree range. Steve ended up with a 3rd place finish with a limit around 10 lbs just didnt get the big kicker fish. So all in all a good day of fishing. The next few weeks should provide some good fish we have caught fish in every stage of the spawn. Kevin
